ECAB to Permanently Close Woods Branch Effective June 1

Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB) has announced the permanent closure of its Woods Branch (ECAB Legacy), with operations scheduled to cease on June 1, 2026.

In a notice issued to customers, the bank said the decision forms part of updated service arrangements aimed at maintaining seamless banking operations across its branch network and digital platforms.

Despite the closure, ECAB assured customers that full banking and ATM services will continue at several alternative locations, including the Woods Branch at the former Scotiabank location, High Street, Redcliffe Street, Dockyard, and Coolidge.

The bank is also urging customers who utilize night deposit and safety deposit box services to make the necessary transfer arrangements before May 29 to avoid disruptions.

According to the notice, safety deposit box holders may transfer their boxes to High Street, Redcliffe Street, the former Scotiabank Woods Branch, or Coolidge, subject to availability. Any boxes not cleared by the deadline will automatically be transferred to the Redcliffe Street Branch.

Customers were additionally encouraged to collect outstanding cheque books and cards by May 29. Uncollected items will be moved to the Woods Branch at the former Scotiabank location and made available from June 1.

ECAB stated that appointments for new accounts, account updates, and service requests will continue at its remaining branches after the closure takes effect.

The bank also highlighted its online and mobile banking platforms, along with its ATM network, as part of efforts to ensure uninterrupted customer access to banking services.

Management thanked customers for their continued support and encouraged anyone requiring assistance with the transition to contact the bank directly.
