The Gunthropes community is continuing to benefit from an ongoing bulk waste cleanup initiative being spearheaded by Member of Parliament for St. Peter, Rawdon Turner, as efforts intensify to create cleaner and healthier surroundings across the constituency.

The initiative, which remains active in several sections of the community, has already resulted in the removal of large amounts of bulky waste, discarded appliances, old furniture, vegetation, and other debris that residents say had become a growing concern.

Teams of volunteers, community members, and workers have been working steadily alongside constituency representatives to improve the area’s appearance and address environmental and public health concerns.

Turner said the cleanup campaign reflects his commitment to delivering meaningful and visible improvements throughout St. Peter.

“Real change happens when we consistently show up, listen to the needs of the people, and take action,” Turner said. “Community by community, we are making a difference and building a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful St. Peter.”

He noted that the initiative is not a one-time exercise, but part of a broader and continuing effort to improve living conditions within communities across the constituency.

“The work continues,” Turner added. “This is about building pride in our communities and ensuring residents can enjoy cleaner and safer surroundings.”
