50 New Homes to Be Constructed in Bolans Under Antigua-China Housing Partnership
Residents of St. Mary’s South are set to benefit from a major housing development initiative, with construction of 50 new homes in Bolans beginning through a partnership between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China.
The project forms part of the government’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to affordable housing and improving the quality of life for citizens across the country.
MP for the area Dwayne George says the development will provide low- and middle-income families with greater opportunities to become homeowners, while helping to address housing demand within the community. The initiative is also expected to contribute to economic activity through construction-related employment and increased investment in the area.
The new housing development represents another step in the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the nation’s housing stock and create sustainable communities where families can thrive.
Beyond providing shelter, the homes are intended to offer long-term security and stability for residents, helping families build wealth and improve their overall standard of living.
George has expressed gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for its continued support and partnership in national development efforts, noting that the collaboration has contributed significantly to infrastructure and social development projects throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
The Bolans housing project is expected to bring meaningful benefits to dozens of families while supporting the continued growth and development of St. Mary’s South and surrounding communities.

Fifty new homes may not solve everything, but it’s a positive step
