Jamaicans living in Antigua and Barbuda are being encouraged to take advantage of the government’s Amnesty Programme for non-nationals, with Caridocs warning that waiting until the last minute could jeopardise their ability to complete the process on time.
Principal Consultant of Caridocs, Nevoy Morrison, said the amnesty presents a rare opportunity for eligible individuals to regularise their immigration status and gain greater security.
“This opportunity only comes once every five years and provides eligible individuals with the chance to become regularized, giving them greater security and peace of mind. I strongly encourage every Jamaican who qualifies not to wait until the last minute to begin the process,” Morrison said.
To help applicants navigate the process, Caridocs is offering assistance with obtaining several of the key documents required for the amnesty application, including Jamaican police records, birth certificates and apostilles for both documents.
The company has also introduced a flexible payment arrangement aimed at easing the financial burden on applicants. Under the plan, clients are required to pay 70 per cent of the total cost to begin the application, with the remaining 30 per cent payable once the completed documents arrive in Antigua and Barbuda.
Morrison noted that applicants should begin gathering their documents as soon as possible, as processing and delivery can take up to 15 working days.
While Caridocs has temporarily suspended its passport application service because of increased complexities in the passport application process, the company said it remains available to provide guidance and general information on passport-related requirements.
“Our mission is to make the document procurement process as smooth, professional, and accessible as possible. We understand the importance of this amnesty programme and are committed to helping Jamaicans obtain the documents they need in a timely manner. We encourage everyone who intends to apply to begin gathering their required documents now rather than waiting until the deadline approaches,” Morrison added.
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Amnesty Programme offers eligible non-nationals an opportunity to regularise their immigration status, with officials encouraging applicants to submit the required documentation before the programme closes.

That’s fine. Why are they giving amesty and encouraging them I’d they’re late with their applications? They’re just taking up valuable space and jobs that could go to locals, while spreading their nasty ways and attitudes. Them and the Spanish Dominicans are like a plague of vermin in Antigua and Caricom.. We barely have enough for our own plus the racist expats who come and treat us like slaves, much less to be hosting people from larger islands to drain our national resources and take bread and school seats from our own children.
