A presentation has been made by an international consortium proposing a US$100 million horse racing and equine industry.
The proposal includes an international-standard racetrack, thoroughbred breeding facilities, an equine veterinary hospital, quarantine centre, training institutions and tourism amenities.
Investors who met with the Cabinet on Wednesday, estimate Phase One will require approximately US$25 million.
While welcoming the proposal’s potential to diversify Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism product and stimulate investment, Cabinet agreed further technical, environmental, financial and regulatory reviews will be undertaken before any decision is made.

This is about the 100th plan I’ve heard for this racetrack.
Which one will stick?

*If managed well, this investment could create jobs, attract tourism, and diversify the country’s economy.*
