Minister responsible for Carnival, Hon. Dwayne George, made a special presentation to the 2026 Antigua Carnival Grand Marshals, Ogliver “Destroyer” Jacobs and Leston “Young Destroyer” Jacobs, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Antigua and Barbuda’s cultural heritage.

The presentation celebrated the father-and-son calypso legends, whose decades of dedication to the art form have helped shape the nation’s Carnival tradition and inspire generations of performers.

By naming Destroyer and Young Destroyer as the 2026 Grand Marshals, Antigua Carnival pays tribute to two iconic cultural ambassadors whose influence extends far beyond the Carnival stage.

Minister George commended the pair for their enduring legacy and thanked them for their invaluable service to the development and preservation of Antigua and Barbuda’s rich cultural identity.
