The Ministry of Social and Urban Transformation is inviting all organizations, institutions, and individuals involved in disability advocacy, service delivery, and support in Antigua and Barbuda to register as stakeholders ahead of the formal establishment of the Disability Council under the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2017.

The Disability Council is a body established under the Act to help guide, regulate, and provide recommendations on matters relating to disability in Antigua and Barbuda. Its establishment marks a significant step toward strengthening disability inclusion, promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, and supporting effective implementation of the legislation.

The Ministry recognizes the value of all stakeholders including community groups, service providers, and advocacy organizations doing meaningful work with and for persons with disabilities and wishes to ensure that the Disability Council is truly representative.

The exercise will also inform the country’s preparation for the Symposium on Implementing Disability Rights Across the Commonwealth, to be held on 5 November 2026, organized by the Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

Registration will remain open to ensure every eligible organization has the opportunity to be counted and are encouraged to register using the link: https://forms.gle/HoZ9Y3fxzvF8v51u9.
