Phase Two of PM’s Vision Initiative Begins at Five Islands Primary School

Phase Two of the Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative is now underway, with the Trinidad Eye Hospital beginning the latest rollout at Five Islands Primary School.

The visit marked the first stop in the new phase of the programme, which aims to protect children’s eye health by identifying vision problems that could affect their learning and overall development.

Students at the school were given access to professional eye-care services as the visiting team began its work across the country.

The initiative reflects the Government’s continued commitment to ensuring that children receive the support necessary to thrive in the classroom. Early detection of vision challenges can help prevent students from struggling unnecessarily with reading, writing and other daily academic activities.

Following the Five Islands Primary School visit, the programme is expected to continue at other schools as Phase Two progresses.
