Police Warn Against Harbouring Wanted Man as Search for Janiah Antione Continues
Police have issued a warning to anyone who may be helping wanted Golden Grove man Janiah Antione evade authorities, as efforts continue to locate him.
In a renewed appeal on Thursday, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda urged relatives, friends and associates who may be in contact with Antione to encourage him to surrender peacefully.
Authorities warned that harbouring, concealing or otherwise assisting a wanted person to avoid lawful arrest could amount to a serious criminal offence.
Antione remains wanted by police and is believed to be armed. Members of the public have been strongly advised not to approach, confront or attempt to apprehend him if he is spotted.
Instead, anyone who sees Antione or has information that could help investigators locate him should immediately contact the police.
The renewed appeal comes as police continue efforts to have Antione turn himself in without further delay.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477), or the nearest police station.
