Antigua and Barbuda took centre stage at an exclusive Monaco dinner on Wednesday night, where Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism Michael Freeland and The Nikki Beach Residences Antigua sales team met approximately 30 potential buyers and investors interested in the offering.
The private unveiling at Nikki Beach Monte Carlo brought the proposed Antigua development before an audience considering opportunities on the island. Freeland attended at the invitation of Vice President of Nikki Beach Residences Antigua, Joseph Valentino, whom he had met for discussions the previous day.
The dinner, hosted by private aviation magazine Elite Traveler and Nikki Beach Residences Antigua, gave Freeland a chance to speak directly with prospective buyers about Antigua and Barbuda. The residences were presented to guests as a real estate and citizenship opportunity.
Freeland is in Monaco for the 35th Monaco Yacht Show, which runs from September 23 to 26. He is representing Antigua and Barbuda as the country seeks to attract more charter business and marine investment and strengthen its profile in the international yachting market.
With Nikki Beach Antigua drawing interest from potential buyers in Monaco, the dinner added another dimension to the country’s presence at one of the world’s leading yachting events.
Deputy Chair Alan Hosam, Laura Westmacott, Founder at Mercury Comminications and Director of Tourism for Europe and the UK Cherrie Osborne also formed part of the discussions.
The investment could be good, but make sure ordinary Antiguans also feel the benefits and not just the people buying the luxury properties.
