Frederick Henry Sentenced to 18 Years for Carlisle Bay Resort Shooting

A Golden Grove man who admitted to shooting two people outside the Carlisle Bay Resort more than three years ago will spend the next 18 years and six months behind bars.

Frederick Henry was sentenced after pleading guilty in June to charges stemming from the April 11, 2023 shooting at the Old Road resort.

Henry received 18 years and six months for the attempted murder of Morrisa Henry and eight years for shooting with intent in connection with male victim Dane Anthony.

He was also sentenced to four years for the firearm offence and an additional 12 months for ammunition possession.

The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Henry’s effective prison term is 18 years and six months.

The shooting happened shortly before midnight on April 11, 2023, as Anthony and Morrisa Henry were walking toward the resort’s gate after finishing their shifts.

Police said the pair came under gunfire at about 11:30 p.m.

Anthony suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Morrisa Henry was also shot several times, sustaining injuries to her arms and side.

Both victims were rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment. Their injuries required hospitalisation, including periods in the Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Ward, before both were eventually discharged.

The case has now concluded with Henry beginning an 18-year-and-six-month prison sentence for his role in the shooting.
