Jumby Bay Donates Patrol Vessel to Strengthen Antigua and Barbuda’s Coastal Security
The vessel will support Coast Guard patrols and emergency response as Antigua and Barbuda prepares to host CHOGM in November.
Jumby Bay Island Company has donated a patrol vessel to the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard to help strengthen surveillance, incident response and coastal protection.
The handover comes ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, scheduled for November 1 to 4, 2026. Maritime security is part of the country’s preparations to receive heads of government and official delegations.
At the handover ceremony, Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier Telbert Benjamin thanked Jumby Bay for its partnership and encouraged Defence Force members to remain focused on their mission.
“Let us focus on our mission, ensure that Antigua and Barbuda remains safe, continue to pursue professionalism, and work in the interest of our people,” Benjamin said.
The ceremony was attended by ABDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant Commander Dorian Davis and Coast Guard Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Alando Michael. Jumby Bay was represented by CEO Stephane Zaharia, Director of Security Auden Nicholas and Communications Specialist Melissa Scott.
Jumby Bay said the donation reflects its longstanding partnership with the government and its commitment to the safety of residents and visitors.
