Two Men Remanded Over Villa Shooting and Ottos Robberies
Javia Peters and Saquami Christian face joint charges linked to a September 27 shooting and two robberies.
Two men charged in connection with the shooting of a Villa resident and two separate robberies in Ottos have been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison until December 2, 2026.
Javia Peters, 25, of Pointe, and Saquami Christian, 22, of Ottos, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel at the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, September 30.
According to police, the men were jointly charged with shooting with intent to murder and using a firearm in furtherance of an offence in connection with the shooting of 47-year-old Francis Dennis.
The incident occurred on Gordon Street, Villa, at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, September 27. Dennis sustained gunshot injuries and was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment.
Peters and Christian also face joint charges arising from two robberies reported on Baxter Street, Ottos, that same day.
In the first case, they are accused of robbing a woman of a cellular phone, SIM cards, a handbag, jewellery, cash and other personal items valued at approximately EC$1,285. Both were charged with robbery and using a firearm in furtherance of an offence in relation to that incident.
They were further jointly charged with robbing another woman of a cellular phone, a SIM card and cash with a combined value of approximately EC$880.
The charges remain allegations and have not been proven in court
