Two Young Men Charged Over Bendals Armed Robbery
An Ebenezer man and a Golden Grove Extension teenager are due in court Friday after a woman was allegedly robbed at gunpoint outside her home.
Police have jointly charged two young men following an alleged armed robbery of a woman shortly after she arrived at her home in Bendals last week.
Deshonte Charles, 21, of Ebenezer, and Nathaniel Benjamin, 18, of Golden Grove Extension, face charges of robbery and using a firearm in the commission of an offence.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Thursday, September 24. Two masked men allegedly held the woman at gunpoint and took her jewellery and a brown Fossil leather purse containing EC$1,200, debit cards and several personal identification cards.
The men reportedly fled in a white motor car travelling west.
Police said Charles and Benjamin were taken into custody and formally charged following investigations. They are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, October 2, to answer the charges.
