Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative Moves to St. John’s Rural East Community Centre
Residents aged 40 and over are encouraged to access vision screening and reading glasses during the two-week programme beginning October 5.
The St. John’s Rural East Community Centre is the latest venue for the Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative, hosting the programme for two weeks beginning Monday, October 5.
The Ministry of Health said the move will accommodate residents of Clare Hall and surrounding communities as the initiative continues its rollout across Antigua and Barbuda.
The community centre was selected because the Clare Hall Health Centre does not have sufficient space for the programme’s various stages, which include registration, vision screening, the selection of reading glasses and their distribution.
According to the ministry, the larger venue will help ensure an efficient process and provide participants with a comfortable and organised experience.
Residents aged 40 and over are encouraged to visit the community centre during the two-week period to access the services.
The initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with its main sponsor, RestoringVision, to expand access to vision screening and reading glasses for eligible residents across the country.
