A search for four juveniles who escaped from the Bolans Police Station has come to an end, with police confirming that all four are now back in custody following two days of efforts to locate them.
The final three juveniles were apprehended in the Liberta area at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, during a police search operation.
Their apprehension came less than 24 hours after 17-year-old Damien Jeremiah surrendered himself to police on Wednesday evening, October 7, accompanied by a relative.
The four teenagers, aged between 15 and 17, are residents of the Dennis Bowers Rehabilitation Centre and had been held at the Bolans Police Station when they allegedly escaped from lawful custody on Tuesday, October 6.
Their disappearance prompted a police search and raised concerns about the circumstances under which the juveniles managed to escape.
In a statement issued Thursday, the Police Administration expressed appreciation to members of the public for their vigilance, cooperation and continued support throughout the search.
The administration also commended the officers involved for their diligence, professionalism and commitment to ensuring the safe return of all four juveniles to police custody.
Although the search has concluded, questions remain about how the teenagers managed to escape from the police station.
Police have indicated that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
