Antigua and Barbuda to Host Caribbean Tourism Conference in 2027
Regional tourism leaders will gather from October 4–8 as the destination prepares to host CTO’s flagship industry forum.
Antigua and Barbuda will host the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) 2027 State of the Tourism Industry Conference, bringing regional tourism leaders and international partners to the twin-island nation from October 4–8.
The announcement came on the final day of SOTIC 2026 in Georgetown, Guyana, where delegates gathered to examine the forces shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
The conference is CTO’s principal forum for tourism ministers, commissioners, directors, private-sector executives, academics, young people, media and other stakeholders to discuss the industry’s challenges and opportunities.
CTO Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer Dona Regis-Prosper said Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to tourism development and regional cooperation made it a welcome setting for the next gathering.
“Antigua and Barbuda has demonstrated a strong commitment to tourism development and regional collaboration, and we look forward to bringing the Caribbean tourism community together there for SOTIC 2027,” she said.
Regis-Prosper said the annual conference provides an opportunity to share knowledge and strengthen partnerships that support a competitive, sustainable and inclusive Caribbean tourism industry.
Minister of Tourism Charles “Max” Fernandez, who was recently elected CTO chairman, welcomed the announcement, saying the country was ready to receive tourism leaders and partners from across the region and beyond.
“Antigua and Barbuda is honored to welcome the Caribbean tourism community for SOTIC 2027,” Fernandez said. “We look forward to sharing the warmth and hospitality of our people while providing a setting for meaningful dialogue about the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
Fernandez said hosting the conference would also give Antigua and Barbuda an opportunity to showcase improvements to its tourism product and the experiences that distinguish the destination.
“We are deeply committed to the Caribbean and to working with our regional partners to strengthen tourism as a force for shared prosperity, resilience and opportunity across our region,” he said.
Regis-Prosper also thanked the Government of Guyana and its tourism partners for hosting SOTIC 2026, noting that the move to Antigua and Barbuda continues CTO’s commitment to bringing its flagship conference to destinations across the Caribbean.
