Minister Freeland Represents Antigua and Barbuda at Annapolis Sailboat Show
Minister of State in Tourism joins the international sailing gathering in Maryland, highlighting Antigua and Barbuda’s appeal as a yachting destination.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Michael Freeland, is representing Antigua and Barbuda at the 2026 Annapolis Sailboat Show in Maryland, where sailors and marine industry professionals from around the world are gathering.
Held at City Dock in downtown Annapolis from October 15 to 18, the annual event brings together boat manufacturers, charter companies, sailing clubs and enthusiasts for a showcase of vessels, equipment and services.
Freeland’s participation places Antigua and Barbuda before an international audience with a direct interest in sailing holidays, yacht ownership and charter experiences. The gathering provides an opportunity to highlight the twin-island nation’s appeal as a sailing destination and strengthen connections within the marine tourism industry.
Floating docks at the show feature multihulls, monohulls, cruisers, racing boats and sailing dinghies from manufacturers around the world.
Along the shore, exhibition tents showcase nautical gear, sails, rigging, electronics and communication equipment. Charter businesses and sailing education providers are also participating, giving visitors opportunities to explore destinations, services and training.
The event welcomes both seasoned sailors and newcomers, combining opportunities to view vessels with activities designed to encourage learning and connections across the sailing community.
Antigua and Barbuda’s representation forms part of its engagement with the international yachting market, with the Annapolis gathering offering access to potential visitors and industry partners.
