Police Outpost and Management Office Approved for Pelican Court
Cabinet establishes dedicated arrangements for security, maintenance and community concerns at the housing development.
Cabinet has approved a Police Outpost and dedicated Management Office for Pelican Court as part of arrangements to oversee the new residential community.
The Management Office will coordinate maintenance, assist with enforcing occupancy rules and administer community responsibilities.
The Police Outpost and other security arrangements are intended to support safety within the development.
According to the October 14 Cabinet report, the Government considers these measures necessary for professional management and an established system through which residents can raise concerns.
The arrangements form part of a wider policy covering housing allocation, property ownership, occupancy requirements and the maintenance of shared spaces.
Each unit will carry a monthly EC$50 community charge to help support common services, including security support and administration.
Cabinet also authorised transportation support for the project team to conduct resident meetings, site visits and relocation activities.
The report did not specify the Police Outpost’s staffing, operating hours or opening date.
Cabinet indicated that the management framework approved for Pelican Court would also provide a model for future government-supported housing and urban renewal developments.
