Entertainer Guerin Hunte, popularly known as DJ Who, has been convicted of serious indecency and indecent assault after a nine-member jury found him guilty on both charges in the High Court on Monday.

According to Wadadli Case Files, the verdict was delivered by a jury comprising six men and three women following a trial presided over by Justice Ann Marie Smith.

Hunte had pleaded not guilty to both offences, which stemmed from an incident involving a 19-year-old woman on December 23, 2024.

During the trial, prosecutors alleged that Hunte offered the complainant and a female friend employment at an event but instead drove them to his private residence.

The prosecution maintained that while at the residence, Hunte attempted to persuade both women to engage in sexual activity with him simultaneously.

When the complainant refused, Hunte allegedly kissed her and touched her private parts without her consent.

Jurors also heard voice notes and recordings in which the entertainer acknowledged that “things got hot” and described the incident as “not intentional.”

Among the evidence presented was a recording made at the complainant's home, during which Hunte asked her to inform police that she no longer wished to pursue charges against him.

The recordings formed part of the prosecution's evidence as jurors considered the circumstances surrounding the incident and the allegations against the entertainer.

Following deliberations, the jury returned guilty verdicts on both counts, rejecting Hunte's not-guilty pleas.
