CHOGM could create opportunities for The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus to strengthen its international reach, Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene has suggested.

Responding to questions about the conference’s wider benefits, Greene said engagement with visiting countries could help promote the university’s academic offerings.

He pointed to the possibility of attracting students from Commonwealth countries and developing connections through bilateral discussions.

The campus will host the Commonwealth Youth Forum, placing it within the programme of activities.

Greene used the example to argue that the event’s potential value extends beyond immediate purchases of accommodation, food and souvenirs.

He did not announce any new student recruitment agreement or academic partnership during the discussion.

The opportunity, he said, depends on using the gathering to introduce visitors to what Antigua and Barbuda can offer.
