Objections Could Prevent Elon Musk’s Visit to Antigua for CHOGM
Prime Minister says concerns were raised that the businessman’s presence could overshadow the gathering.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne says Elon Musk is unlikely to attend CHOGM after objections were raised over the potential impact of his visit on the event.
Browne said Musk had indicated a willingness to come to Antigua and Barbuda.
However, according to the Prime Minister, concerns were subsequently expressed that his presence could dominate attention and become the main highlight of the gathering.
Browne did not identify who raised the objections and said he would not provide further details at that stage.
He also spoke of support associated with SpaceX and Musk’s group, which he valued at approximately $1 million.
The Prime Minister said a Tesla Cybertruck had been promised and expressed hope that it would arrive in time.
His comments did not establish a confirmed delivery date or a final decision on Musk’s attendance.
