Stray Dog Removal Exercise Begins in St. John’s Ahead of CHOGM
Veterinary and Livestock Division asks the public to report stray dogs in the capital during the October 26–November 6 exercise.
The Veterinary and Livestock Division within the Department of Agriculture is undertaking a stray dog removal exercise in St. John’s from October 26 to November 6, 2026.
In a public notice, the division said the initiative forms part of its safety obligations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Members of the public are being asked to assist by reporting stray dogs seen loitering in the capital. Reports can be made by calling 460-1759 or 764-1263.
The notice, issued under the Department of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy, appeals for public cooperation in supporting a safer, cleaner and healthier Antigua and Barbuda.
It does not specify where the dogs will be taken or outline arrangements for owners to reclaim animals removed during the exercise.
