Villa Primary School and Christ the King High School had fresh reason to celebrate on Sunday evening, turning their title defences into another championship triumph at the 2026 National Schools Panorama.

The two schools returned to the top of their respective categories at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, with both winning selections drawn from the music of Claudette Peters.

Villa Primary claimed the primary school crown with “Pan Man Play”, arranged by Jonathan Mills. Naomi Elcock served as organising teacher for the successful ensemble.

The victory kept Villa ahead of Greenbay Primary, which earned first runner-up with “Fire Under Me Foot” by Burning Flames. That performance was arranged by Orel Peters, with Oliver Joseph as organising teacher.

Nelvie N. Gore Primary, formerly Willikies Primary, secured second runner-up with “Man to Man” by Sir Rupert “King Swallow” Philo. CC. Cochrane was the arranger, while Chaka Grant served as organising teacher.

Among the secondary schools, Christ the King held on to its championship with a strong rendition of “Belong to a Flag”. The winning arrangement was the work of Maurisha Potter, with Sharon Hopkins as organising teacher.

Ottos Comprehensive School took first runner-up with its interpretation of “Pan Man Play”, arranged by Maury Galvez and Dr Zahra Lake. Joelle Michael served as organising teacher.

Princess Margaret School completed the top three, earning second runner-up with “Iron Band” by Burning Flames. Kareem King arranged the selection, with Sharisse Moore as organising teacher.

The results gave Villa Primary and Christ the King another achievement to celebrate, recognising the work of their young pannists and the arrangers and teachers who helped prepare them for the competition.
