A week after gunfire claimed the lives of two Creekside residents, police are renewing their call for witnesses as investigators work to establish who killed 49-year-old Rennie George and 18-year-old Yejide Christian.
An inquest into their deaths was held on Tuesday, October 27, following the fatal shootings on October 20.
Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel presided over the proceedings, which began at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the presence of a seven-member jury.
In a statement issued Wednesday, police said the double homicide investigation remains active. Investigators are continuing efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
The statement did not disclose any findings from the inquest.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information that could help investigators, to come forward.
The Police Administration extended condolences to the families and loved ones of George and Christian, assuring them that every effort is being made to thoroughly investigate the killings.
