The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has announced a temporary disruption to its operations in the heart of St. John’s as Antigua and Barbuda prepares to host activities associated with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The utility provider confirmed that its Business Centre, located at the junction of High Street and Independence Avenue, will be closed on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to accommodate scheduled CHOGM activities.
The one-day closure will affect customers who normally visit the facility to conduct business, although APUA has assured the public that alternative payment locations and services will remain available.
According to the authority, all other APUA bill payment locations and inet stores will continue operating during their regular business hours, allowing customers to access services without interruption.
Customers are also being encouraged to take advantage of the authority’s digital platforms to manage their accounts and settle outstanding bills without visiting a physical location.
These options include APUA’s official website at www.apua.ag and its inet customer portal at myinethome.apua.ag.
Payments can also be made through participating online banking institutions and credit union partners, while inet customers can complete mobile transactions using the My inet mobile application.
The temporary closure comes as preparations continue for CHOGM, which will bring Commonwealth leaders and delegations to Antigua and Barbuda for a series of high-level engagements.
APUA confirmed that normal operations at its High Street and Independence Avenue Business Centre will resume on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The authority thanked customers for their understanding and cooperation during the temporary adjustment.
