Four Wins, One Remarkable Night: Antigua.news Shines at Media Awards
Nominated in six categories, Antigua.news stood alone with four wins as Managing Director Shermain Bique-Charles earned honours across reporting, current affairs, programming and editing.
Antigua.news and its Managing Director, Shermain Bique-Charles, had four reasons to celebrate on Friday night, emerging as the only media house to capture four categories at the 2026 Legacy Ball and Media Awards.
Nominated in six categories, Antigua.news delivered a standout performance at the November 6 ceremony, with Bique-Charles securing honours across reporting, current affairs, programming and editing.

Her impressive haul included Best News Reporter, Best Journalist/Current Affairs, Best Programming Director, and Best Editor.
The four wins marked a proud moment for the publication and its Managing Director, recognizing the range of skills behind the headlines, from pursuing stories and reporting on national issues to shaping coverage and guiding the editorial process.

For Bique-Charles, the celebration was also an opportunity to acknowledge the audience whose support has helped Antigua.news grow.
“This award is really for the people, our followers, our fans. Those who continue to support our online newspaper and especially those who trust our platform for accurate and honest information,” she said following the ceremony.
Meanwhile, its Founder Dr Dario Item said, “This is a proud moment for Antigua.news. Shermain and the entire team have earned this recognition through hard work, dedication and a commitment to keeping our readers informed.”.
Antigua.news entered this year’s awards having won Best Online Newspaper for two consecutive years. That title went to Dominica’s Emo News this year, while Antigua.news celebrated its distinction as the evening’s only media house to win four categories.

The achievement also reflects the collective work of the Antigua.news team, whose contributions help bring readers breaking news, community stories and coverage of issues affecting Antigua and Barbuda and the wider region.
For a newsroom committed to keeping its audience informed, the recognition offers fresh encouragement to keep building, improving and telling the stories that matter.
