Boris Latour

Chief of Staff in the Office of the Prime Minister, Lionel Max Hurst, informed reporters Thursday that the Gaston Browne administration has “decertified” Boris Latour from his position as Ambassador to France and other positions he held.

Antigua. news was the first local online newspaper to report that the government revoked Latour’s appointment following confirmation from Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene.

Hurst explained that this decision was based on allegations concerning Latour’s involvement in a dispute related to his father’s property, which resulted in legal proceedings.

He stated that while Latour was previously regarded as a “good man,” the recent reports involving his brother and father necessitated this action.

In response, Latour’s representatives issued a statement this week, asserting that the claims were false and that he, along with his legal team, will defend his rights and protect his honor. They also claimed that his appointment was not revoked; instead, he resigned.

Latour was the Ambassador-designate of Antigua and Barbuda to Switzerland, Resident Ambassador to France, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, and Permanent Representative to the UN office in Geneva.

The man told you all remove his photo and still you all writing stories? This is by far the most confusing episode I ever come across. Listen…It would be better if Latour just give up the Ghost. Latour whatever money you have left, let us elope and move to a place where only love exists because they don’t love you down here. Maldives perhaps?

Latour listen to me cutie. Gaston Browne will not wait to know if what they said about you is true or not….once it comes to Antigua and its reputation he will fire you. This is who he is. This is how we roll in the islands. And when you are in the wrong don’t ever play wrong and strong. In the Caribbean they don’t care about lawsuits or threats. We brazen down here babe. So chill.

Latour. Around here we don’t protect people’s reputation unless it’s our own. And we are going to protect Gaston Browne and Antigua’s reputation. Who am I to listen to you and go against my Prime Minister? I didn’t even know you exist and you don’t know I exist. Please cut the lies.
