Citizens are gearing up for a protest today in response to the government’s controversial proposal to increase vehicle license fees by 40%. 

The picket is set to take place outside the office of Prime Minister Gaston Browne, located on the busy Queen Elizabeth Highway at 7:30 a.m.

The protest, themed “Transparency First, Taxes Second,” aims to shine a light on the residents’ demand for government accountability amidst perceived financial overreach.

Prime Minister Browne is under increasing pressure as the opposition, led by Jamale Pringle, rallies citizens to demand change.

Pringle has criticized the proposal as reckless and highlights a troubling lack of meaningful consultation with the public, calling the tax hike an added burden on families struggling to make ends meet.
