Juvenile Arrested For Aggravated Robbery

A 16-year-old Potters youth is in police custody in connection with ongoing investigations into a report of aggravated robbery.

On Monday, a woman from Newgate Street reported to the police that she and her friends were robbed of their money and mobile phones by a group of young men armed with cutlasses and knives.

Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to the report and apprehended the young man on Tanner Street with certain items suspected of being stolen.

The incident occurred around 1:50 am on Newgate Street. Further investigations are ongoing.

    A bunch of young men armed with cutlasses and knives roaming the streets of St John’s after midnight? Isn’t there supposed to be a curfew in place for teenagers after 10 pm or something like that?
