Denis Bowers Rehabilitation Center
The Juvenile Court has committed four boys to the Bowers Rehabilitation Center, previously known as the Boys Training School.
This facility, which has just reopened its doors, will provide the necessary evaluation and counseling needed for these young individuals.
The Bowers Rehabilitation Center aims to offer a supportive environment where the boys can receive individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
Focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment, the center seeks to address the underlying issues that may have contributed to their circumstances.
Officials at the center have expressed optimism about the reopening, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation in the juvenile justice system.
The court’s decision underscores a growing recognition of the need for alternative approaches to youth offenses, prioritizing therapy and rehabilitation over incarceration.
As these boys begin their journey at the Bowers Rehabilitation Center, Minister of Urban and Social Transformation Rawdon Turner remains hopeful for their successful reintegration into society.
