Cabinet meeting shaken by earthquake during prayer
At the beginning of the weekly Cabinet meeting, as is customary, a priest led the attendees in prayer.
However, as he was speaking, the building suddenly shook, and the attendees stood still, unsure of what was happening. The shaking continued for approximately 20 seconds, causing a sense of unease among the group.
After the prayers, Prime Minister Browne, who chaired the meeting, called on the relevant authority to address the situation.
The authority reported that they had experienced a mild earthquake and would provide further details to the Cabinet as soon as possible.
Subsequently, it was discovered that the earthquake had measured 5.4 on the Richter scale and occurred 27.3 miles southeast of Antigua and Barbuda, at a depth of 6.2 miles.
Fortunately, there were no reports of any damage resulting from the earthquake.
