UN General Assembly President to Meet with Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister

His Excellency Mr. Dennis Francis, President of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA), has arrived in Antigua and Barbuda to take part in the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4).

During his visit, Mr. Francis will meet with the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne.

The conference, scheduled from May 25 to 28 and themed “Charting the Course Toward Resilient Prosperity,” aims to address the various challenges facing Small Island Developing States, including climate change impacts, economic vulnerabilities, and post-pandemic recovery.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne, known for his strong stance on climate action and economic justice, is expected to discuss these issues with Mr. Francis during their meeting.

Their dialogue will likely cover various topics relevant to the sustainable development and resilience of Antigua and Barbuda, as well as broader regional concerns.

The meeting between the UN General Assembly President and the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda highlights the importance of international cooperation in supporting Small Island Developing States as they navigate complex challenges and strive for sustainable growth and prosperity.
