ABDF Soldier Sean Richards Granted Bail on Fraud Charges
Sean Richards, a soldier in the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF), has been granted bail after facing fraud charges.
Richards was arrested for allegedly converting $19,052.35, money entrusted to him by Jodele Hodge for the purchase of a Honda Fit motor vehicle, for his personal use.
It is alleged that the victim made payments to Richards on April 1 and June 8, 2023.
During his first court appearance at St John’s Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Richards was placed on $38,000 bail with two sureties, despite objections from the prosecution regarding his release.
As part of the bail conditions, Richards must pay a cash deposit of $3,800, surrender his travel documents, maintain his current residence, and report to the St John’s Police Station three times a week.
The committal proceedings are scheduled for January 14, 2025.
He’s a whole fraud. He stole from the lady and he’s being granted bail. Why can’t the juvenile get bail?
Wow. Imagine using someone earnings for your personal gain. He shouldn’t be grants any bail. He should be sitting in jail rethinking his choices. But then again he’s a ABDF Soldier
He’s an ABDF soldier, plus here, we have a touch-not-the-Lord’s-anointed judiciary whose dispensation of justice is NOT to be questioned. Remember?
Bail?,mmmm, He should get jail just like everyone else
