Antigua Barbuda advance to ECVA Finals undefeated

You can now listen to Antigua News articles!

It’s a perfect run so far for Team Antigua and Barbuda in the Men’s Easter Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Championships here in Antigua.

The defending champions advanced to the finals of the tournament after battling with longtime rivals, St. Lucia this morning in the first semifinal matchup at the YMCA Sports Complex.

After winning the first set, Antigua and Barbuda faltered in the second, giving St. Lucia, some much-needed momentum.

That momentum would however be short-lived as the defending champs rallied to win the third and fourth sets to advance to the finals scheduled for tonight at 9 at the YMCA Sports Complex.

Antigua and Barbuda will face neighbours Dominica who defeated Grenada in straight sets.

This means St. Lucia and Grenada will battle each other for the bronze medal. That match will spike off at 7pm.

The closing ceremony and prize giving will take place after the two matches.

Nice to hear of an Antiguan team, (almost) winning something, even at the regional level. Good luck guys. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
