The police are questioning three male suspects alleged to be involved in a robbery at English Harbour.
It was reported that around 12:30 am on Monday, December 1, four male suspects in a black Honda Fit motor car allegedly robbed a female of her bag containing a mobile phone and other personal items.
As a result of the swift response from police officers at Dockyard Police Station, the vehicle and suspects were intercepted on Shirley Heights Main Road, near the cemetery. A man reportedly alighted from the vehicle carrying what is believed to a weapon and confronted the police.
One officer discharge his firearm; however, the suspect manage to escape on foot in some nearby bushes. No one was injured.
Three men were taken into custody, while police are still searching for the fourth suspect. Police have also seized the vehicle involved in the incident. Further investgations are ongoing.
Meantime, police are appealing to anyone with information surrounding this incident to contact the Dockyard Police Station at 460-1002.
