Sean Bird says his return to ABLP was due to a divine intervention

Sean Bird, the politician who ran for the last election on a United Progressive Party (UPP) ticket, has described this shift to the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party as not merely a decision but as a moment of divine intervention guiding him back.

Bird’s departure from the UPP was swift. Immediately after severing ties, he wasted no time aligning himself with the ABLP.

He recounted a series of significant encounters, including one at a supermarket, where he encountered three individuals who each conveyed a similar message, urging him to “Return to Labour.”

These chance meetings left a profound impression on Bird, as he felt a compelling call to answer.

He reflected on the legacy of his father and grandfather, both stalwarts of the Labour Party, and ultimately concluded that he had no choice but to heed this unexpected guidance and reconnect with his political roots.

Bird’s grandfather, Sir Vere Cornwall Bird, was also known as the father of the nation.

A few days ago, Bird faced the profound sorrow of losing his own father, Ivor Bird.

In his reflections, Bird paid heartfelt tributes to both of these remarkable men, emphasizing their unparalleled contributions to society.

He expressed a deep, unwavering love for his father, a love that he believed was truly unique and incomparable, especially for someone who had dedicated themselves to uplifting the less fortunate.

Are these just words to clear the air? in my thoughts they are only polluting it. You left the ABLP to run on the UPP ticket knowing all that you know about the labour party being then root of the family. now you’re back over on the ABLP ticket saying words to prove what? i guess Antigua and Barbuda will never know.

Once you know you have a root I believe that’s where you should stay. I hope you don’t make another decision to leave the ABLP again.

Sean I have no issues with you or your decision. That’s really on you. But anything Devine cannot be linked with politics. You love your dad I great that. But don’t make it seem as if he was a spotless hero. Nor was any of the birds. I’m sorry if I sound harsh but truth is truth
