Prime Minister Gaston Browne
Prime Minister Gaston Browne was welcomed by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Moros in Caracas on Saturday afternoon during an important summit.
Prime Minister Browne joined fellow leaders at the 24th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).
This gathering also marks the 20th anniversary of the bloc’s founding.
Antigua and Barbuda is among the ten member states from Latin America and the Caribbean, which include Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, St Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Lucia, and Grenada.
The heads of state will discuss significant geopolitical issues and explore opportunities for increased collaboration, guided by the principles of solidarity and social justice.
The summit reflects on the legacy of ALBA, which was established on December 14, 2004, by the former presidents of Cuba and Venezuela, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.
Well I must say, Venezuela has been assisting us for many years now especially our senior citizens of which I am one that has been benefiting from the electricity program let’s hope this summit is successful

It’s an important and most strategic alliance from which Antigua and Barbuda has benefitted immensely. Only the Orange Orangutan from the cold north would view this affiliation with evil eyes. Our leaders therefore will need to fortify themselves to avoid being trod upon Cuban-style. Viva Venezuela!
