Training for Election Day workers rolls into day three

6 January 2023 - 10:46

Residents who applied to the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission to work as election officers rolled into day three of what has been described as intense training ahead of the January 18th general elections.

The training is being held in 16 constituencies across Antigua, while training for Barbuda will take place at the Holy Trinity Primary School next week.

Each person will be trained in all areas before a selection is made.

The training is being facilitated by the returning officers assigned to each of the 17 constituencies.

It is being held from 6 pm to 8 pm for the rest of the week and the officers will be educated on what to expect on voting day, its procedures, rejected ballots, spoilt ballots, and how to deal with the disabled

The training ends Monday next week with an examination. Based on performance, the workers will be selected by the returning officers.
