A man who had sex with his step-daughter and got her pregnant has been remanded to prison and is facing several criminal charges
The man who appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emmanuel in the district court on Monday is facing four charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
His attorney applied for bail on Monday saying to the court that the defendant cooperated with police and is willing to move out of the house he shares with his wife and his step-daughter.
Attorney Maurice MacDougall, who held papers for Wendell Robinson told the court that the man plans to move in with a relative, but that individual did not show up in court.
In the absence of confirmation and permission, Magistrate Emmanuel decided to remand him to prison until next Monday, when the relative is expected to attend court.
The man committed the offences on his stepdaughter while she was only 14 years old. The young girl is now sixteen years old and they now share a one-year-old child together.
The prosecution say that the man only cooperated with investigators after a DNA test proved he was the father of the baby.

That’s what my mother did! No man slept over at our house while we were growing up! She only remarried once we were grown and out of the house! Some sacrifices are worth it! We grew up protected and happy! Today, we are are happy to be by her side in her advanced age!!

He is an animal and showed no responsibility to be a parent already with the mother but desired a fourteen year old who had her whole life ahead of her and exploited and abused the situation and he must answer for his animal behavior and must take his responsibility to provide for that child and the mother let his pockets bawl out ! So let this be a social case while he serves his time given by the system then after his release continues to maintain the support as decided by the courts
