The family of 59-year-old Denroy “Waka” Harrigan is urging members of the public to donate blood to help his recovery and it doesn’t matter the blood type

Harrigan is the man who was badly damaged when he got trapped between a container and a truck at the Deep Water Habour on Tuesday, in what witnesses say was a freak accident

Port Manager Darwin Telemaque reported that the accident occurred when the driver of the truck was reversing, unaware that Harrigan, was in the process of opening the back of the container.

Since the accident, the man has been in the Intensive Care Unit of the Mount St Johns Medical Center. He has had surgery so far and family members say his condition remains critical.

According to reports, he is unconscious and on a ventilator.

Harrigan worked for a local shipping agent. Discussions have been held between the company and port officials.
