Small craft advisory in effect for Antigua and Barbuda

268 Weather – Antigua and Barbuda’s Met Office has issued a small craft advisory for the Atlantic waters surrounding the islands, effective until Saturday night.

Gusty winds are creating hazardous sea conditions, especially on the Atlantic sides of the islands.

Mariners are urged to exercise caution as wind speeds of 10 to 18 knots, with gusts up to 28 knots, and significant wave heights of 5 to 7 feet, occasionally reaching 9 feet, pose potential risks to life, property, and marine infrastructure.

Inexperienced mariners, particularly those on smaller vessels, are advised to avoid navigating in these conditions.

The Met Office advises staying updated through official channels for any changes in the weather situation.
