Trouble Designers within the Barbuda Council

MP for Barbuda Trevor Walker

The leader of the Barbuda People’s Movement (BPM), Trevor Walker, has expressed concern over the possibility of certain elements within the movement attempting to undermine and dismantle the Barbuda Council.

In a press statement issued recently, Walker asserted that he would not let such elements propagate and spread like a cancer within the movement.

Although Walker refrained from naming anyone, his comments could be interpreted as a response to the criticisms leveled against the BPM and the council by Gulliver Johnson, a member of the Barbuda Land Rights & Resources Committee.

Johnson has accused both the council and the local government of colluding to sell off Barbuda lands. He has further alleged that the council is not acting in the best interests of the people, thereby failing to prevent the sellout of Barbuda.

The BPM, in their statement, reminded everyone that there is a democratic process in place for those who feel that the council is not serving the best interests of the people of Barbuda.

They encouraged those who disagree with the council to contest in the elections and add their names to the ballot.

The BPM further stated that they would continue to fight for the people of Barbuda, despite some members within the movement who thrive on anarchy and deception.

  1. Trevor Walker should have already withdrawn Barbuda from Antigua long time. He is dragging his foot while Barbuda lands are being slipping away. He should know Gaston Browne by now that no court system can stop Gaston to do what he wants with Barbuda and the lands there. The people of Antigua and Barbuda are playing with Gaston especially. We need to pull a Haiti stunts or hired them young people from Haiti to get Gaston and his ministers to resign.
