By Zya Williams
Denris Josiah, a 21-year-old resident of Old Road, will be spending some time on remand as ordered by Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel when he made an appearance in court this morning charged with murder.
Last night police charged him for the murder of Ricaldo Joseph, a 23-year-old fellow villager.
He was taken into custody after the tragic machete attack that resulted in Joseph’s untimely death on Sunday morning.
According to the reports, Josiah grabbed the sharp weapon and fatally injured Joseph during a dispute that took place at a local bar in their community.
Additionally, a 19-year-old man who tried to intervene in the altercation also suffered a chop wound to his wrist.
Josiah’s lawyer Wendel Alexander asked the prosecution for disclosure of medical records.
The committal hearing was then set for June 12.
