The second annual Restaurant Week will kick off from May 4th to 19th. This year’s event will feature participation from 62 restaurants.

Special Projects and Events Manager of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority Shermaine Jeremy explains the rationale behind the staging of the event.

“The premise behind Restaurant Week is to extend our season beyond Sailing Week and see how we can get the economy remaining in business for those months where typically it would be considered off-season,” she said.

While speaking on state media she elaborated on some of the competitions and prices that will form part of this year’s event.

“We are going to post those prizes on the website. They will be up soon so persons will be fully aware. We also have a new Spin the Wheel so when you get your passport this year there is a Spin the Wheel. If you visit those six restaurants then you get a chance to go back to one of them as your seventh for something free,” Jeremy said.

According to the Tourism Authority Restaurant Week celebrates one of the destination’s best qualities, its food, culture, and people.

Restaurant Week is a unique Antiguan and Barbudan gastronomical experience poised to titillate your senses.

Spanning 14 days, Diners can expect a variety of delectable cuisine, offering visitors and nationals an opportunity to experience special menus and/or experiences at prix-fixe (discounted) prices across a range of restaurants.

During the fourteen-day food experience, diners can also enjoy local food, international Chef appearances and the Food and Art Experience
