Today, workers at the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services took part in a sick-out to protest against their boss, Dale Destin.
Sources with insider information revealed that the workers demand that Destin be removed from his position due to his alleged management style, which they find questionable and unacceptable.
This isn’t the first time that these workers have expressed their discontent with Destin’s leadership, as they have previously written letters to the Minister outlining their concerns.
Interestingly, there was a demand for Destin’s removal when he was acting in the position. However, the position was advertised, and Destin was selected from four applicants. He emerged as the only and most qualified person in Antigua for the position. Despite all the pushback, Destin was confirmed into the position.
In response to the allegations, Destin made it clear that he is trying to create a culture of excellence.
“I am trying to create a culture of excellence, but change is not easy, and some individuals remain resistant to change. Notwithstanding, I will continue to push for excellence as I believe the people of Antigua and Barbuda deserve no less. My record speaks for itself.
The Tourism Minister, Charles Fernandez, has stated that he will not comment on the situation until he receives a full report on Monday.
No one likes Dale Destin.
Change is good but it is how you implement and execute the change within an organization.
This is an on point statement!
