The Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace Airlines, Allen Onyema, and Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, were honored with the Vanguard Personality of the Year Award at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

The event was well-attended by celebrities, politicians, business leaders, and other prominent figures. The award ceremony recognized outstanding Nigerians who have excelled in their respective fields.

Allen Onyema, born on March 28, 1964, has had a remarkable career. He pursued his education in various institutions, including the University of Ibadan, where he studied Law.

Following his legal education and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service, Onyema’s career took off when he was appointed Head of Chambers at the chambers of Chief Vincent Amobi Nwizugbo in Lagos. He later ventured into the real estate business, founding Allen Onyema & Company.

Onyema’s commitment to peace and unity became evident during his time at the University of Ibadan, where he and nine of his schoolmates intervened in a religious and ethnic riot in Zaria, aiming to promote harmony among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups and eliminate violence from the country.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed, as he has received numerous awards both locally and internationally.

These include hosting rights for the International Conference on Nonviolence and Peace in 2007, the Martin Luther King Global Award for Pioneering Nonviolence Education in West Africa in 2007, and the Hope for Humanity Award from the Rotary Club in 2006, among others.

With his extensive knowledge of critical sectors of the economy such as Oil and Gas, Information Technology, Agriculture, Research, and Finance, as well as his experience in policy making and development, Onyema has made a significant impact.

He has also served as a two-term member of the House of Representatives, further solidifying his influence in the executive branch of government.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has an impressive résumé with consulting experience for various organizations including governmental bodies and corporations in Nigeria.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Digital Communication and Networking, a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in International Relations.

Additionally, he is a Certified Ethical Hacker with certification in Ethical Hacking and CounterMeasures.

  1. How can an educated man like him hooked up with Gaston Browne and Cutie Benjamin. When he was forming a group to limiting crime in Nigeria, Gaston was running a small gang called the Red T-shirt Gang here in Antigua that terrorized people.
