Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States, will reveal the locations of two new embassies in the Eastern Caribbean in the upcoming months.

The announcement follows comments made by Roger Nyhus, the US Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, during an interview with the Antigua Broadcasting Service (ABS).

Nyhus stated that Prime Minister Gaston Browne has put forward a compelling argument for locating one of the embassies in Antigua and Barbuda, though the final decision rests with the vice president.

Speculation regarding the embassy placements has been ongoing since the initial announcement was made at the US-Caribbean Leaders’ Meeting in The Bahamas last June.
