VIDEO: New Medical School Investors to Build a New Hospital in Antigua

Published

The investors who met with the Cabinet to discuss the establishment of  a new medical school in Antigua and Barbuda intend to build a brand new state-of-the-art hospital there as well.

Revelations from Prime Minister Gaston Browne claimed that the school is expected to bring at least 2000 medical students here.

Meanwhile Health Minister Molwyn Joseph has expressed enthusiasm about the potential establishment of a new medical school in Antigua and Barbuda.

During a recent Cabinet meeting, two investors were invited to discuss their interest in opening a medical school in the country.

The student body is expected to primarily consist of individuals from Pakistan and India, although students from various nationalities are also expected to attend.

The school’s faculty is likely to be recruited from the same source states, but individuals from a diverse range of nations are also expected to join the institution.

The investors highlighted that in Pakistan, there are only 50,000 spots available for medical training, while there is a demand from 100,000 aspiring medical students.

This gap could potentially be filled by offshore medical schools operated by the investors in different states.

The investors received the necessary assurances during the meeting, and further discussions are set to take place in the upcoming days.
