A 23-year-old male who is believed to have killed another young man his age, has had his committal hearing adjourned.

Denris Josiah is accused of murdering Ricaldo Joseph in Antigua and Barbuda’s third homicide 2024.

It is alleged that, on the evening of May 30, the two men were arguing at a bar in Old Road which escalated after one of them grabbed a cutlass, and inflicted fatal injuries to the victim’s head, neck and arms.

The 19-year-old male reportedly tried to quell the fight but also received chop wounds to his wrist.

Joseph was pronounced dead the next morning.

Josiah appeared in court this week but his committal hearing was pushed to September 25.
